Welcome to MillerDowns!
We are glad you're here! We raise show-quality Southdown sheep on the flatlands of Central Illinois. The site of Crown Point Farms, home of the MillerDowns flock, is that of the old rural Crown Point School, once attended by my Great Grandfather, who grew up just down the road on a dairy farm.
MillerDowns' early beginnings were as a small 4-H project flock started by my Dad in 1953. Over the decades it has grown into a flock that is competitive at the state and national levels. We are proud, though, that MillerDowns sheep are still a family 4-H project that has now spanned 3 generations.
Though it is true we like to be competitive in the show ring, our first focus is to raise practical and productive breeding stock while preserving the beautiful Southdown breed character. We want the stock we raise and sell to work in and out of the showring.
We are also producers of home grown lamb for your table. MillerDowns lamb is a favorite amongst our friends and we take pride in the fact that we are contributors to the local food chain.
We gladly welcome visitors to our farm to look through our stock and sit for a spell. Give us a call, we'd be glad to see you! Don't forget to visit us often here online for the latest updates.
